Government Proposes 100-Fold Increase in Penalties for Railway Cable Theft
Malaysia's government is moving to dramatically increase penalties for railway cable theft, proposing fines of up to RM100,000 per offence compared to the current RM1,000. The amendment targets persistent theft affecting national rail networks and the East Coast Rail Link project.
