KWAN Amendment Closes Door on Massive Fund Withdrawals Without Parliamentary Approval
Malaysia has passed legislation tightening controls over the Kumpulan Wang Amanah Negara after a RM5 billion withdrawal in 2021 exposed regulatory gaps. The new law now requires parliamentary approval for any future fund withdrawals.
