Dzulkefly Ahmad has been named the Pakatan Harapan candidate for Kota Iskandar in the 16th Johor State Election, one of 56 seats the coalition is contesting across the state.
Dzulkefly Ahmad stands as the Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) candidate within the Pakatan Harapan coalition, which is chaired by Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The coalition brings together PKR, DAP and Amanah in a unified slate fielded across all 56 Johor state constituencies.
The Kota Iskandar constituency forms part of the broader battleground that will decide control of the Johor State Legislative Assembly. Pakatan Harapan is contesting all 56 state seats in a direct challenge across both urban and rural Johor.
As an Amanah candidate, Dzulkefly Ahmad champions Pakatan Harapan's agenda of progressive, inclusive and ethical governance rooted in the Malaysia Madani vision. Amanah is contesting 19 of the coalition's 56 Johor seats.
Dato' Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad is among the most senior figures on the entire Pakatan Harapan slate. A former Health Minister and a deputy chief of Johor Amanah, his contest in Kota Iskandar — the administrative heart of Johor — is one of the marquee races of the election. Pakatan Harapan's selection process for the Johor election was rigorous, with the coalition evaluating more than 1,000 potential candidates before finalising its 56 names. The slate blends established leaders, professionals and fresh faces, reflecting the coalition's bid to present a credible, governing-ready team to Johor voters.
Nomination Day falls on June 27, 2026, with early voting on July 7 and polling day on July 11. Voters in Kota Iskandar will have their say as Pakatan Harapan seeks to extend its mandate across Johor.
